Spring Update - Jake

Big Jake. Jake has an extremely STRONG personality! He is stubborn and hard-headed...and I am hoping that some day this personality will serve him well! =) Jake is very verbal and smart....beyond his years!!

Jake is Zach's sidekick....he will do anything Z tells him to do and shadow's all of Zach's movements - at times it is quite entertaining. Jake's favorite time is meal time! =) Around 4pm if I am in the kitchen he starts asking "Is dinner ready?"....

We have had some trouble lately with naps and night-time. We are hoping it is a phase and ends quickly. It started after being at Oma & Papa's for a week so hopefully the old routine will get him back to sleep! Currently Luke has moved into Zach's room and Jake is all alone.

Potty training is going well....he could be trained if Mom wasn't being lazy about it! I think this summer will be easier....but the pull-ups are no good...they just allow me to be lazy! (Luke has no interest!)

Spring Update-Lucas

"Laid-back Luke" is what we called Lucas as a baby....and he continues to live up to the name! He is SO easy going and marches to the beat of his own drum! Just recently we have noticed Lucas and Zachary interacting and playing more often but most of the time Luke will check out what the other two are doing and then go off and do something on his own! He's just as content to play alone versus trying to keep up with Z or compete with Jake =)!

Lucas loves balls - He could shoot hoops or play with a ball for hours! More times than not he is carrying a ball around! Another favorite activity for Lucas is watching TV! I hate to admit it but it's true! He is my one child who will sit and get sucked into a show....and laugh outloud....and be in the zone!We limit his time and he rarely fights us when we turn it off....but that's just his nature.

Luke is talking a lot but is still at the point where we can't understand everything he says. Sometimes he will walk into the room.....talk for 20 seconds straight, and then walk out! It's hillarious because half of the time we have NO IDEA what he was talking about!

Spring Update - Zachary

Zach is growing and growing and has become such a little boy!! At his 4 year appointment in February he was 38 pounds and 43.3 inches tall. He is the tallest little boy in his preschool class and often is thought to be 5 or 6 based on his size. He is also filling out a bit which makes him look so mature - scary!

He loves his preschool with Ms. Joan on Tuesday and Thursday mornings and seems to be doing very well. Everyday he comes home with a craft and a story about the snack they ate or the "job" he had that morning. Wednesday mornings he goes to a Mother's Day Out program, we call it "camp".. and he loves his teachers there as well. We have borrowed Ms. Hannah from MDO and she has become one of our sitters!!

Zach is still a very ACTIVE little boy! One of his new favorite outdoor toys is his scooter! It was amazing how quickly he picked it up and is now cruising all over the place! Fun to see! He started a new "Sporties for Shorties" class this month and each week they work on the skills of a different sport w/o game play. Last week they did basketball and this week soccer. He LOVES this and I was excited that I didn't have to DRAG him to an activity that we signed up and PAID for!! (like I did for soccer and often gymnastics!) In general, Z loves to be outside with his brothers and the neighbors!!

Zach continues to be a very good big brother. Jake and Luke follow Zachary's lead and I really think Z enjoys having them around =). This is such a fun stage for all of the boys...and the way they play together warms my heart!! (most of the time!)

The potty is not an issue at all. No accidents during the day or night! Just needs to learn to wipe his own butt and stand up to pee - then we would be all set! =)

Recent Zach quotes:

"Just look online"
"What the heck"
"Sweet Mama" (from Spacebuddies movie!)
"Are you talking about me?"
