Celebrating with Opa & Yaya

Finally. The boys had been asking all week - Opa Yaya here? Every time they woke up...in the morning and from naps...they would ask! Friday afternoon they finally arrived and the boys were thrilled by their arrival! We had an action packed weekend and lots of fun!!
Saturday Eric went out and picked up a pool for the guys - we had fun filling it up and watching them play! It is the perfect size for this year. Saturday evening Katja, Ron and Ryan came over for a cook out. Unfortunately when they arrived so did the thunderstorms!! We moved the party inside and ejoyed the evening watching the boys play!

Sunday morning the Dad's went golfing and Yaya opended up her coffee shop and made the boys all their own "coffees" (I'm thinking it's 95% cream and milk, 5% coffee!!!) We spent the morning "out by the pool" and rested up for the trollley ride downtown to Station Square for dinner. It was a perfect afternoon relaxing at the patio at Hard Rock while the guys played near the dancing fountains - fun was had by all! Sunday night we celebrated Opa's bday together and all enjoyed an ice cream cake from DQ - yummy!

Thanks for a great weekend Opa and Yaya! Enjoy the pictures below!

Last Game

Zach's soccer season is over and below are some pictures from his last game. Overall I think he enjoyed playing...although he was not very agressive. He enjoyed running around but did not enjoy getting into the cluster of kids that were around the ball. Next year he will be one of the older kids in the league maybe things will change - but he wants to sign up again so we are exicted about that!

They are looking forward to the end-of-season celebration at Chuck E. Cheese in a couple of weeks. We will post pictures of that soon.

GG Falls

Over Memorial weekend we went up to Michigan to visit Eric's Grandmother who is 99!! She is an amazing lady and as sharp as a tack! The boys are a bit overwhelming so we kept our visits short but it was nice to see her and allow the boys to make some memories with their GREAT grandmother. (the bonus was seeing opa and cousin kelly too!)

last day of school

May 27th was Zach's last day of pre-school for the year. Our neighbor Audrey and he were in the same class and we rode together so we thought we should take some pictures to document the final class =)!

Jake and Luke had to join in!

Sitting in his room at his table....

Zach and Mrs. Joan (Joan Easton)...

Zach and Ms. Kim.......

Zach and Leann.....

Nick & Chloe

We are so lucky to have such great neighbors! Nick and Chloe live next door and are so great with the boys! The first thing the boys say when we go outside is "Where's Nick & Chloe???"......they will be thrilled when school is out so they are around to play!!

Cousin Ryan

One Saturday in May we got to watch Ryan so that Katja and Ron could go out and celebrate their 10th anniversary!! Wahoo! We were excited to see him and I'm sure K&R were excited to have a dinner ALONE! =) The boys had fun together and it was neat to see them all interact.

Soccer

Zach started his first season of Soccer thru Mt. Lebanon's rec center. The first practice was a little rough as he showed no interest in being on the field and would have rather played on the playground with his brothers. The second time around was a success and he seems to be having fun! Eric is the assistant coach for the team and is so good with the kids - it has been fun for the entire family!! (Jake and Luke think they are on the team too!) The best part is that they divide the kids (over 300 kids registered!) into teams based on neighborhood so we are meeting families close by that Z will eventually go to elementary school with at Lincoln.

Oma Preston visits!

Oma came for a long weekend and brought the boys bug catching kits! They went to town out in the yard flipping stones to find potatoe bugs, worms, ants, etc. Oma helped in the yard and things are looking GREAT!

Picture Day at Preschool

This is Zachary's preschool class at St. Paul's - most of the kids are 4 or turning 4 soon. From the left: Jimmy, Ally, Miss Kim (Z's favorite!), Audrey, Dylan, Samantha, Nora, Anna, Mrs. Joan (main teacher), Ben, Lily, Zach, and seated in from are Xavier and Scottie. Zach enjoyed all of his friends this year and looks forward to having some in his class next year at St. Paul's.

I took the below pictures at home before school because I figured that Z would not smile for his "school" picture. =)

Opa & Yaya Visit

Opa and Yaya came for a visit the second weekend of May. The boys were excited to have them here and we had a warm/dry weekend to spend outside! We went for walks, worked in the gardens, played tennis, went for pizza, and had fun!! Thanks for a great weekend Opa and Yaya! We are excited for another visit to be on the calendar for June to celebrate Father's Day and Opa's Birthday!

Mother's Day weekend 2010 - VA

We took a road trip to Virginia for Mother's Day weekend so that I could run in a half-marathon with our cousin Surya. Her family lives outside of DC and welcomed us into their home for dinner on Saturday and then an after race brunch on Sunday (Mother's day). Surya and I had a great run...although we missed our goal by 1 minute!!

Below are some random photos from the trip. The boys loved listening to Mr. Dill play the guitar and sing and LOVE their parting gift - he sent us home with a CD!! The hotel had a pool that we took a quick dip in between all the action.

Note: It was our first time in a single hotel room with 2 beds and it went really well. Eric slept with Jake and Luke and Z and I shared a bed. We turned the lights off after 9am and nobody made a peep!! yahoo!

Mother's Day weekend in VA

playdate in Butler

Our friends Sam, Gabby, and Cole had us over for a playdate one day when Eric was away for work. We enjoyed the afternoon at their house in Butler; riding bikes (they have a large FLAT driveway and yard), walking to a little lake/pond, eating dinner, etc. We are lucky to have such good friends!

May 1 - the start of boo boo season

After a long day of playing outside the boys lined up for band-aids!!
