On Monday, February 13, 2012 - Zachary lost his first tooth and joined the Tooth Fairy Club!! Eric and I spent a good 15 minutes trying to get him to pull it out on Sunday night but he just wasn't ready. Monday night he went down in the basement and came up excited and said his tooth came out - he said it just landed on his lip! :):) Monday night he put it in a little treasure chest under his pillow and that good old tooth fairy paid a visit!!
(I CAN'T BELIEVE WE ARE LOSING TEETH ALREADY - FEELS LIKE THEY WERE JUST COMING IN!!!)

Z's #6 - Super Mario Style
Zach invited eight of his kindergarten buddies over to the house to help him celebrate. The theme of the party was "Super Mario Kart" which is a racing game for the Wii. The boys arrived at 11am and headed downstairs to race on the Wii and play air hockey. Eric did a great job of coordinating the racers and getting everyone set up (a little chaotic!). After racing, the boys came upstairs to have some lunch (hot dogs, chicken nuggets, fruit, cheese balls, pretzels, chips, m&ms, juice boxes, chocolate milk). We were very impressed by how the boys all sat together at the table and enjoyed each other’s company/conversations - a lot of which was potty talk and joking around but they had fun! After lunch we played Mario Bingo - again, the boys did great and were all very into the game....especially when they realized there were prizes for the winners. Time was running out so we went back to the table to sing Happy Birthday and enjoy some Mario cake, ice cream, and star cookies. We ended the party by Zach opening presents.....just in time as the parents started arriving to pick the boys up!
We were a little intimidated prior to the party about having 11 boys in the house but had a GREAT time and were very impressed by these little guys! We will definitely do another "old school" party at the house!

Zach's Birthday #6
Zachary was born on a Saturday and this year his birthday fell on a Saturday so it had Eric and I doing a lot of flashbacks to 2006! Hard to believe that he is six years old...but we couldn't be more proud of the little boy he is turning into. We had a conference recently with Miss Lewis, his Kindergarten teacher, and she had nothing but good things to say! He is a good friend, a good listener, etc...her only concern was that he take a little more time doing his tasks at school and not always worry about being first done. Wonder where he got those competitve genes?!?!!? ha!
Opa and Yaya decided to take advantage of the mild winter weather and came down to help us celebrate - we were so grateful to have family in town to help make it special! Saturday morning we started off with Z's favorite coffee cake, open some presents from family while skyping with Oma and Papa, partied with his friends from 11-1, went to his first basketball practice at 4pm, and then finished the day with pizza at Bado's. Fun was had by All!

our little fish
This year we decided to join the rec center so that we could take advantage of the indoor swimming facility in the winter and the outdoor in the summer. Having the boys in the water more has made a world of difference in their skills - they are all building their confidence and doing great! We have tried to bring them over at least once a week, typically on bath night, to have some fun.
