Day 1-2

We arrived Friday to a little rain and overcast skies. By the time we rented the car, and got to our place we decided to grab dinner and get groceries for the week. Eric had been eyeing this little Mexican place, El Patron, for the past couple of years so we decided to check it out. Happy hour!! We had some great chips, salsa, nachos, and margaritas! We will definitely be back! After the grocery trip to Walmart we were all tired so we called it a night.
Saturday was a beautiful day! Enough sun buy yet enough clouds to ease you in to the Florida heat! We spent the morning at the volcano pool, had lunch, and then went to the turtle pool and played mini golf in the afternoon. We grilled burgers for dinner and had cookies and ice cream for dessert! The boys finished the day with a bubble bath in the spa tub and a movie in their king size bed :)!

These photos were taken on my phone - I will post many more when we get home.

Zach at 6

We had Zach's 6 year well-visit with the doctor this week so it has prompted me to post. Below are some thoughts/facts on Z at 6:
  • loves school and has never complained about anything related to school
  • 48 3/4 inches tall (95%) - Dr. Breit said he is the average height of a 7 1/2 YO
  • 49 1/2 pounds (50%)
  • is reading age appropriate books
  • loves to be outside (regardless of weather)
  • has made a lot of good buddies (Nate, Luke, Miles, Connor, Zachary, Carter)
  • is really into basketball - is signed up in a K-1 league at the YMCA. Shoots baskets in the driveway for long periods of time....if it is cold he will wear mittens so he can still practice
  • knows and sings along to every song on the radio
  • enjoys church for the social aspect (childrens church, fired up fridays, etc.)
  • swims well and is interested in learning strokes (may sign him up for a swim team this summer)
  • loves the wii...and would play all day if we would let him
  • very competitive - his teacher had excellent feedback from our conference and said her only concern is that he slow down - for some reason he always wants to be first
  • has lost one tooth and has a second that is very loose
  • enjoys card games - war, uno
  • lacrosse season starts next week and he is ready to give it a try (3 times per week!)
  • enjoys our lunch date every Wednesday where we get a little one on one time
  • is going to get evaluated for speech in a couple of weeks - hoping to get a little help with his articulation (does not qualify for speech at school)
  • is VERY excited for our Florida vacation!!
So far 6 has been a nice age....Zach has really made that turn into a boy versus a little kid.  I love my time with Zach and also love it when he agrees with me and can get his brothers on the same page as well. Zach is the ring leader so most of the time when he cooperates his brother will follow. This can also work negatively!
